Dulux Live brief
Cocoons are one of the smartest structures in the natural world, protecting vulnerable prey from all of the elements. Ironically humans are the worst of their predators, boiling alive & breaking down silkworm cocoons to make silk. This process is expensive and unethical. During the 2 week live brief from Dulux Paints, I explored how these structures could be recreated to assist in the heating crisis currently facing the UK. Simulating the cocoon structure to design an insulating and protective fabric. This live brief saw me receive the Colour and Design award “one to watch” as a runner up
